History: Shedrick James Lunt

Shedrick James Lunt was born in the covenant on 26 October 1869 in Nephi, Juab, Utah, United States to Alfred Lunt, age 24, and Priscilla Pitt, age 23. He was the 2nd of 5 children, and the 1st of 4 sons, born to the couple. His older sister, Elizabeth Ann, was 2 years old at the time of his birth and was born on 17 November 1866, also in Nephi, Utah.

On 23 July 1872, when Shedrick James was 2, his brother, George William, was born in Nephi, Juab, Utah, United States.

Alfred Oscar, Shedrick James’ brother, was born on 4 December 1874, when he was 5, in Nephi, Juab, Utah, United States. 

Shedrick James was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 1 January 1877, when he was 7 years old. Since baptisms and confirmations cannot be completed until 8 years old, he was baptized proxy 30 April 1980 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints’ Salt Lake Utah Temple, which is located at 50 North West Temple in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.

When Shedrick was 10, his youngest sibling, John Edgar, was born on 3 May 1880 in Nephi, Juab, Utah, United States.

Shedrick James, age 28, married Sarah Florence McCune, age 24, in Nephi, Juab, Utah, United States. 

On 26 June 1899, when Shedrick James was 29, his first child, Frederick Earl, was born in Nephi, Juab, Utah, United States.

Clinton Edward, Shedrick James’ second son, was born 8 August 1900, when he was 30, in Nephi, Juab, Utah, United States.

Shedrick James’ third son, Shedrick McCune, was born 2 November 1901 in Nephi, Juab, Utah, United States, when he was 32 years old.

Shedrick James, age 32, completed his initiatory and endowment ordinances and then was sealed for time and eternity to his wife, age 27, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints’ Salt Lake Utah Temple, which is located at 50 North West Temple in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.

In 1905, when Shedrick James was 36, he had a son that was born and died on the same day, possibly a stillborn. I have not been able to find a name for this son.
