History: Charles Henry Sperry

On 7 December 1872, Charles Henry’s first child, a son, was born when he was 22 years old. They named him Charles Alonzo and he was born in Nephi.

A second son, Arthur David, was born in Nephi on 30 October 1874 when Charles Henry was 24 years old. 

Charles Henry’s first daughter was born in Nephi, when he was 25 years old on 27 August 1876. They named her Emily Esther. 

Twin girls, Jeanette and Jeanevery, were born when Charles Henry was 28 years old in Nephi on 15 June 1879. Tragically, Jeanevery died when she was 8 months old on 22 February 1880. She died by accidental suffocation when sleeping in the same bed as her mother (Caroline Webb) and twin sister.

When Charles Henry was 30 years old, his son Henry Melvin was born in Nephi on 29 January 1881.

Another daughter was born when Charles Henry was 33 years old. They named her Retta and she was born 9 November 1883 in Nephi.

Emma Della, Charles Henry’s daughter, was born in Nephi on 2 April 1886 when he was 35 years old. 

On 13 May 1888, when Charles Henry was 37, his daughter Lillian May was born in Nephi.

When Charles Henry was 38 years old, he was sealed for time and eternity to his parents, Charles (Charles Sperry), age 59, and Emily Louisa (Emily Louisa Miller), age 61, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints’ Manti Utah Temple, which is located at 200 East 510 North in Manti, Sanpete, Utah, United States.

Eva Pearl, Charles Henry’s daughter, was born 29 June 1891 in Nephi when he was 40 years old.

Charles Henry’s last child, a daughter, was born when he was 43 years old in Nephi on 15 August 1894. They named her Ruth.

On 1 April 1898, when Charles Henry was 47 years old, his sister Philenda (Philenda Amanda Sperry)Amanda died in Nephi at the age of 49.
