History: Morrice Tommy Smith

Morrice Tommy Smith was born on 19 October 1918 in Justice Precinct One, Hill, Texas, United States to Benjamin Hezekiah Smith, age 34, and Mattie Ann Elizabeth Atchinson, age 31. She was the 4th of 5 children, and the 2nd of 2 daughters, born to the couple. Her older siblings were: Joe Ben, who was born 15 September 1906 in Chase City, Bosque, Texas, United States; Emma Lucille, who was born 6 March 1906 in Justice Precinct One and Deriot Eugene, who was born 29 March 1911 in Justice Precinct One

Charles Ivan, Morrice Tommy’s brother, was born when she was 3 years old on 23 January 1922 in Blackwell, Kay, Oklahoma, United States.

Morrice Tommy married James Patrick O’Connor , when she was 19 years old, on 20 December 1937 in Yuma County, Arizona, United States. James Patrick was 25 years old at the time of their marriage. I am not sure if they divorced or if he passed away. 

On 7 September 1945, when Morrice Tommy was 26 years old, she married Charles Edward Moose in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California, United States. Charles Edward was 42 years old at the time of their marriage. 

When Tommy Morrice was 40 years old, her husband died at the age of 55 on 4 July 1959 in Los Angeles County. They had been married 13 years. 

She was later married to Charles Frank Hoffmeier, but I do not have the date of the marriage. 

Morrice Tommy’s mother died at the age of 81 on 18 January 1964 in Hobbs, Lea, New Mexico, United States and her father died at the age of 84 on 1 August 1964 in Los Angeles. Tommy Morrice was 45 when her parents died. 

Morrice Tommy died at the age of 55 on 19 May 1974 in Hobbs. She was buried 22 May 1974 at Colony Cemetery, which is located 2 Miles South of Colony in Colony, Anderson, Kansas, United States.
