History: Olive Dove Doke

Olive Dove Doke was born on 6 October 1878 in Tulare, Tulare, California, United States to Robert H. Doke, approximately 44 years old, and Mary Elizabeth Enlow, approximately 34 years old. She was the 5th of 5 children, and the 2nd of 2 daughters, born to the couple. Her older siblings were: James Wesley, who was born in April 1862 in Cedar Creek, Crawford, Arkansas, United States; May A, who was born in 1866 in Arkansas; Joseph M., who was born in 1869 in Arkansas; and Lorenzo Dow, who was born 28 January 1872 in Tulare, California. Her Father died the year she was born.

When Olive Dove was approximately 9 years old, her mother died in 1877 when she was about 43 years old.

In 1894, when Olive Dove was approximately 16 years old, he married James David Hill, who was approximately 22 years old. 

Olive Dove gave birth to her first child, a daughter, when she was 18 years old. They named her Elsie Evelyn and she was born 19 September 1897 in Chatsworth, Los Angeles, California, United States.

On 19 March 1901, when Olive Dove was 22 years old, she gave birth to her second child and first son, James Robert. He was born in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California, United States.

James Wesley died when Olive Dove was approximately 24 years old in 1902. He was approximately 40 years old at the time of his death.

Olive Dove and James David divorced, but I am not sure of the date.

Olive Dove married Charles Edward Bolton, when she was 28 years old, on 28 November 1906 in Visalia, Tulare, California, United States. Charles Edward was also 28 years old at the time.

On 23 March 1908, when Olive Dove was 29 years old, she gave birth to her daughter, Coral Lorraine, who was born in Visalia.

Joseph M. died when he was approximately 58 years old in 1927 when Olive Dove was approximately 49 years old. 

Olive Dove’s husband died when she was 62 years old on 8 June 1941 in Los Angeles, California. He was 62 years old at the time of his death and they had been married 34 years.
