September 1, 1896 (Tuesday) – I received a letter from Fay Reid. In the evening, I went up to Salisbury’s for a little while.

September 2, 1896 (Wednesday) – Home all day.

September 3, 1896 (Thursday) – Received a letter from Leah Reid. In the evening, I went up town with Grandpa Sperry. I went up to Burtons and met her sister Mrs. Kirby. I went down to Aunt Sarah Abbott’s and then to choir practice. I slept to Aunt Sarah Abbott’s.

September 4, 1896 (Friday) – I went down to the store and then up to Mrs. Burtons. I went again to the store and to Miss Morgan’s for Mrs. Burton. Then I went for my music lesson. In the evening, I walked out home.

September 5, 1896 (Saturday) – Home all day.

September 6, 1896 (Sunday) – I went up to Salisbury’s and then walked down to Sunday School with Henry Perkins. After S. S. (Sunday School), Lenore Kienke took me home with her for dinner. In the afternoon, we went to meeting. After meeting Lon Ingram and I went up to Salisbury’s. There was a little vineyard north of Salisbury’s and Lon, Ada and I went there and ate some grapes. We came down over the bench and Ada came down home with me. I went up to Salisbury’s to sleep.

September 7, 1896 (Monday) – About 4 a.m. I became quite sick to my stomach, by seven o’clock, feeling some better I went home. At noon, Father  went up town. I spent the afternoon at Burton’s and had supper there. Later in the evening, Mrs. Burton and her sister dolled me up for the dance. Father took the following people with him to the dance: Aunt Lucy Webb, Lizzie Schappee, Ada Taylor, Della Kendall, Esther and myself. At the dance, I met a Mr. Duncle. Returned to the farm with father. In the afternoon, I wrote a letter to Art and Lon.

September 10, 1896 (Thursday) – In the afternoon Father and I went up town, I went up to Mrs. Burton’s and down to Grandma Sperry’s. Esther, Father and I came down to the farm.

September 11, 1896 (Friday) – Stayed home all day.

September 12, 1896 (Saturday) – Esther cut Ruth’s hair. In the afternoon, I went up down and took my music lesson. I went over to Howarth’s for some vinegar and then over to Grandfather Webb’s home for some apples. Father and I came down home. In the evening, Esther and I went up to Salisbury’s met Ada there and we three went up to the vineyard and picked some lilies.

September 13, 1896 (Sunday) – In the afternoon, I went up town. Min and Maud Abbott, Stella Taylor and I took a walk, visited our new house and then came down to Aunt Sarah Abbott’s and had supper. Afterwards, Maud Parkin’s came by Aunt Sarah’s and called us out, later we were joined by Ada Taylor and Esther. Leaving Esther, Ada and the boys, we went out serenading then we went over to Aunt Augusta’s. Frank Patten and Arthur Dennis came and talked to us, we all went up to Patten’s and got some melons and returned to Aunt Augusta’s to eat them. I slept to Aunt Sarah Abbott’s.

September 14, 1896 (Monday) – I started to school. At noon, I went down to the post office and over to the coop. I went up to Aunt Augusta’s for lunch. After school, Ada Salisbury and I walked out home. I wrote a letter to Art.

September 15, 1896 (Tuesday) – Ada and I walked up to school, at noon, I went up to see Mrs. Burton’s for a few minutes. In the afternoon, May Grover came up to visit our school. We received a letter from Lon.

September 16, 1896 (Wednesday) – I went up town to school. We wrote a postcard to Lon.

September 17, 1896 (Thursday) – Went up town to school.

September 18, 1896 (Friday) – I went to school. At noon, Ada Salisbury and I went over to Aunt Emily Black’s and then down to Kendall’s. We came back to Aunt Emily’s and Esther walked out home with us. There wasn’t any school in the afternoon. In the evening, Will Miller came down to see Father, but he wasn’t at home.

September 19, 1896 (Saturday) – Was home all day.

September 20, 1896 (Sunday) – About five o’clock in the afternoon, Uncle Jim and Aunt Emily Black and children came down to the farm. After they left, I went up to Salisbury’s. They were going up town to a meeting, so I went with them. It was Young Men’s Conference. We had a lovely meeting, afterwards we came out home.

September 21, 1896 (Monday) – I went up town to school. In the afternoon, I went to Young Ladies Conference. After meeting, Della Kendall wanted me to go in the drug store with her to get some medicine for Jennie. Stella, Min and I went with her. While we were there, it started to rain so Oscar Lunt loaned us his umbrella. I went with Della down to her place, she loaned me a book called ‘Dombay and Son’. I came back up to Aunt Sarah Abbott’s and then went over to Pearl McCune’s with Esther while she practiced a song, we three, Pearl, Esther and I went to a meeting together. Esther sang ‘The Heroes Return’. I slept to Aunt Sarah Abbott’s.

September 22, 1896 (Wednesday) – I went up town to school.

September 23, 1896 (Wednesday) – I went up town to school.

September 24, 1896 (Thursday) – In the afternoon Professor (unreadable) talked to us for a while. In the evening, I went up to Salisbury’s for a while.

September 25, 1896 (Friday) – I went to school, Esther walked out home with us. 

September 26, 1896 (Saturday) – Mother went up town to stay overnight.

September 27, 1896 (Sunday) – I went down to Kienke’s in the buggy and got Lenore and then went to meeting. We had a lovely meeting, Apostle Teasdale, President Paxman and Bishop Parke being present. We received a letter from Art. 

September 28, 1896 (Monday) – I went to school, May Grover started to school. At noon, May and I went down to the post office. I went to the store Hyde & Whitmore & the Coop.

September 29, 1896 (Tuesday) – I went up to school. In the afternoon, I took my music lesson.

September 30, 1896 (Wednesday) – I went to school. At noon, Ada and I went up to our lot and picked some apples.
