1947 (Tuesday) – In the evening, Alfred (Alfred Oscar Lunt, Jr.), Mary (Mary Etta George) and I intended going to a play up at the stadium, but when we arrived there, it had been raining so hard it was impossible to hold the show. The thunder and lightning was terrific, as we came back home the streets were filled with running water and yet when we arrived home, we found there had been no rain to speak of.
