1947 (Friday) – Earl (Earl Sperry Lunt) and I went down to Nephi. We called at Pleasant Grove to get some flowers. Edna’s (Edna Viola Nelson) mother (Grace Viola Harper) had some ready, peonies and flags. We were glad to be able to get some there.
It was a lovely day, inclined to be a little warm and the ride was fine. The hills and mountains looked so clean and fresh. Old Nebo was topped with snow. We took the lower road, which there was less traffic. It was dry and dusty in Nephi. We visited the graves, they were all covered with weeds. A little flag had been placed on Arthur’s (George Arthur Lunt) grave and a little wreath. We decorated the graves. While there we saw Charles Grace (Charles Howard Grace), wife (Charlotte Emeline Johnson (2nd wife)) and daughter Della (Della Grace (from 1st marriage)), also Bert Paxman (Albert Reynolds Paxman?) and wife (Margaret Grace Jenkins?); and Vick Hague (Alma Victor Hague) and wife (Mary Eleanor Burton). That was about all we knew up there at that time and going down. It was so dusty you couldn’t see the occupants of the cars as they passed. We called at Uncle George’s (George William Lunt), talked to them for a little while, went to a restaurant and got a sandwich and same home. Edgar (John Edgar Lunt) was in California. I enjoyed the day, but was a little tired at night.
