1947 (Sunday) – Lillian (Lillian Lunt) attended Sunday School. I did not leave the place all day. Alfred (Alfred Oscar Lunt, Jr.) and Mary (Mary Etta George) were home all morning and part of the afternoon. Bert (Charles Gilbert Lunt), Agnes (Agnes Coalter Golightly) and Judy (Judith Ann Lunt) came down, but Agnes was not fit to be away from home. She has asthma and looks very bad. She said Robert (Robert Gordon Lunt) has been ordained a Deacon and today helped pass the Sacrament for the first time.
Evening – The Layton’s(?) came to see Alfred and Mary and later they went to the Tabernacle where Evan and Alfred were ushers, it was something special as most of the Governors from all over the U.S. were present. Some had members of their family with them, three hundred and fifty seats were reserved for them.
