Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1947 (Monday) – Alfred (Alfred Oscar Lunt, Jr.) and Mary (Mary Etta George) are painting the outside of my house, including the porch. It is very, very warm today.

Edgar (John Edgar Lunt) came in to see Oscar (Alfred Oscar Lunt). He had to carry on the conversation as Dad would only say yes or no and seemed so quiet. Edgar said “can this be Oscar, he always seemed so talkative”, didn’t seem like him a bit, to lie so quiet.

Sister Robbins came in for a few minutes and brought a quilt block for me to work my name on. I haven’t done such a thing for so long, it was quite an effort. First I tried it out on a plain cloth and then on the block, it wasn’t satisfactory to me.
