Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1947 (Sunday) – I went to Sunday School and in the Genealogical class, Clara Woodbury is a temporary teacher, she is very good.

Lillian (Lillian Lunt) went over to Earl’s (Earl Sperry Lunt) and they took her for a ride. Dad (Alfred Oscar Lunt) has his dinner about that time, so I couldn’t go to our ward, so after Lillian came home, I went to the North 17th Ward. Vivian Meek was the speaker, he told about some of the terrible conditions in the world, little children without food or homes, seeking shelter in brush or any place wherever they can find it. Many do not know who their parents are. Told of his trying to find out of there was a God and finally of meeting, accidentally, Hugh Brown and of the truths he and Brother Benson taught him. How he appreciates being here. Talked especially to the young folks giving them some good council and advice.

I walked the home with Sister Smith, went into her home, she has it fixed so lovely. She has just finished painting her house inside. Everything looked lovely, but she is very tired and worn. She feels lonesome without her husband.
