1895 (Sunday) – We washed hard all day and towards evening we went up town to Mutual. Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) sang a song “If Sighs Had Wings”. After Mutual, a crowd of us went on to Grandma Sperry’s (Emily Louisa Miller): Lillie Black (Lillie May Black), Earl Mangum, Ada Taylor, Asa Kienks, Art (Arthur David Sperry), Esther and myself. We had a good time dancing on the lawn. I suppose, and going through various parts of physical culture. Later, Esther and I came down to the farm in the buggy. We had to sprinkle the clothes. It was twelve o’clock before we got to bed.
