1896 (Tuesday) – There wasn’t any school. In the evening, I went up to Burton’s and got ready for the dance, Esther (Emily Esther Sperry), Mrs. Burton (Frances Haddy Betenson), Lil Black (Lillie May Black) and I went to the dance with father (Charles Henry Sperry). Esther and I played the organ. I earned $1.50 and had a good times besides. I slept to Burton’s.
