1896 (Friday) – In the evening Father (Charles Henry Sperry), Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) and I went up town, Esther and I went up to Burton’s, then I went down to Grandma Sperry’s (Emily Louisa Miller), and then down to Judge Higgins to call for Lillie Black (Lillie May Black). Lil and I went to the dance with Father. Esther went with Mr. (Enoch E. Burton) and Mrs. Burton (Frances Haddy Betenson). It was the wedding dance of George Udall and Miss Stewart. After the dance, Father and I came down home.
