Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1897 (Thursday) – Father (Charles Henry Sperry) had to play at the Excelsior so I had to go up town to play the organ for him. We played all afternoon until after six o’clock then I went over to the post office and then up to Aunt Sarah Abbott’s (Sarah Elizabeth Sperry). I went back down town again and when we left the Excelsior we went over to the merry-go-round. Oscar (Alfred Oscar Lunt) came over there and took us over to where Father was. He wanted Father to let us stay up town overnight but he wouldn’t, so we had to come down home.
