1897 (Saturday) – In the afternoon Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) and I walked up town. We called in at Aunt Sarah Abbott’s (Sarah Elizabeth Sperry) and then went down town. We met May Paxton and we three went over to the Excelsior and then over to Hyde’s Store. I went over to the drug store, Fred Moore and his wife were there. I went up to Burton’s. In the evening I went down to Foote’s but as Mr. Foote was so tired I did not take a lesson. Coming back I met Oscar (Alfred Oscar Lunt) by Judge Higgins home he walked up to Burton’s with me. I left my books there and we took a walk.
