Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1897 (Wednesday) – Friday afternoon I went up town, went up to Burton’s, Mrs. Burton (Frances Haddy Betenson) had a sewing class there. Amy Powers was there she had arrived the night before. After the class left I went down to Mrs. Moore’s (Mary Mildred Boshard). In the evening Mr. (Frederick John Moore) and Mrs. Moore, Mrs. Boshard, Flora Moore, Eddie McCune (Edward Hague McCune) and Oscar (Alfred Oscar Lunt) came up for the evening, the boys remained a little while after the others had gone. On Saturday, Amy and I took our Lillian (Lillian May Sperry) down to be baptized. We sent her up to Grandmother’s (Emily Louisa Miller) and we went over to the store and meat shop, then we went back up to Burton’s. In the evening Oscar came. After he had gone and we were all asleep a crowd of young folks came and serenaded us. The music sounded lovely. On Sunday I fasted and went to Sunday School. Afterwards I called for Amy and we went down to the post office together. Amy went back up home and I went over to fast meeting, later I went up to Burton’s and Mrs. Burton, Amy and I went for a walk. After we got back Oscar came up then Eddie McCune and Mr. and Mrs. Moore, Mrs. Boshard and Flora. Monday morning Saturday Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) and I came down home. Tuesday Mother (Caroline Webb) went up town to stay for a few days. Today I stayed home all day.
