Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1904 (Saturday) – Maud (Ruth Maud Abbott) wasn’t feeling very well so I helped her with the cleaning. Mother (Caroline Webb) and Lon (Charles Alonzo Sperry), Arthur (Arthur David Sperry) and Gertrude (Gertrude Barton), Maud and I and the baby (Charles Gilbert Lunt) all went out to Salt Air. Oscar (Alfred Oscar Lunt) was going but his father (Alfred Lunt) was in Salt Lake, on his way to Canada, so he had to be in town to meet him. Arthur, Gertrude, Maud and I went in the lake, it was the first time for me and I enjoyed it very much, although I was afraid to try very much to paddle around. I guess I was afraid of the salt water, I remember Art tried to teach me how to float. After lunch we went up to the ballroom where we remained until about 9:30. When we reached home, we found Aunt Sarah (Sarah Elizabeth Sperry) there, she had just returned from Ogden.
