1905 (Thursday) – I have been real busy and not able to write for some time. Since last writing a little darling (Eva Ruth Lunt) has come to bless our home with her presence and she is welcome as the flowers in May. She was born Tuesday morning 4:10 am 11 July 1905, weighing 8 ½ lbs. The children (Alfred Oscar, Jr., Lillian and Charles Gilbert Lunt) are all so pleased and little Bert has acted like a jewel, which I was in bed. About June 11th, my sisters Retta (Retta Sperry) and Lillian (Lillian May Sperry) came home from Frisco and surprised me. Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) went on up to Salt Lake to attend our brother’s (Arthur David Sperry) wedding and came home about the 26th, she slept here most of the time and took care of me during my sickness. Frances (Frances Kirgan) went home sick for a week and Retta worked for me. Sister McCune (Sarah Broadbent) was with me when my baby was born, Grandmother Lunt (Priscilla Pitt) came up, but it was all over before she arrived. Dr. Mantor waited on me. My husband (Alfred Oscar Lunt) was not at home at the time and has only been home once since, he came home Saturday 15 June about 6 o’clock pm and left on the early train the next morning. Today, I am feeling pretty well, and able to walk around and out in the dooryard. Baby is very good, sleeping most all the time. The children and Frances are away and I am alone this afternoon. In the evening Oscar came home and surprised us. I walked as far as Sister McCune’s (Elizabeth Temperance Grace).
