1907 (Sunday) – We got through with diphtheria alright and none of the others took it for which I feel thankful. For the last three weeks, we have had to stay home as the children (Alfred Oscar, Jr., Lillian, Charles Gilbert and Eva Ruth Lunt) have had the chickenpox, they have all had it but Alfred, they haven’t been very sick, Eva and Bert are just getting over it. Mother (Caroline Webb) is getting better now, but she has had quite a siege of sickness, I think she has had nervous prostration. My sister Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) and her husband Karl Farnsworth have been to Nephi, they both looked fine, Esther never was so fleshy in her life before. They have gone to Beaver now, but expect to return to Nephi Soon. Today is Sunday and I am home alone with my children.
