Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1945 (Wednesday) – I went to the library for an hour and a half then went to the Center Theater to a show. In the evening, Sister Allred and I visited some families on a Genealogical Survey.

First we went to the home of Grant Ensign, his wife, Grace, was home. We discussed with her other families living in the same buildings: a Brother Wilson lived upstairs and Grace promised to talk to him. There was also another family living in the building, but she didn’t think it would do any good to contact them as they are very active in the 18th Ward. Directly across from the Ensign’s was a Sister Mason and her young son. Her husband, Fred P. is in the armed forces.

We spent most of the time with her and she has promised to prepare her records for the archive. We visited next the Hoosick’s, they are not interested, we chatted a while and when we went to leave, Mrs. Hoosick said if we wanted to leave a chart and group sheet, she would fill it out as soon as possible. She is working all the time.
