1945 (Saturday) – The mail brought a letter from George (George Thornton Holman) stating Eva (Eva Ruth Lunt) is not doing very well, her one finger is dead to the first joint and the sore has started on her little finger, she is getting quite discouraged. It upset me until I found it hard to do my work. In the afternoon, I phoned to Nicholas G. Smith to find out if there are any of the General Authorities going near Ely, if so, I wanted them to administer to her. He said he didn’t know of any but that his family would remember her in their prayers. I phoned to Bishop Lengton to have Eva prayed for in Sunday School.
