1945 (Sunday) – I walked over to see Grace Ensign and take some material for the lesson. As it looked like snowing, I thought best to remain home from church. If March did come in like a lamb, the lion soon followed after, for we had quite a snow storm accompanied with considerable wind.
My, the day was long. I wrote Earl (Earl Sperry Lunt) and Eva (Eva Ruth Lunt), listened to the radio and slept quite a bit, read as much as I thought wise, as my eyes get so tired, but with no work to be doing, the day seemed dreadfully long, no telephone calls or visitors, of course I can always have my thoughts and I am very grateful that I am getting better.
On Saturday Deon Holman Carter came back from McGill. Her sister Retta (Emeretta Holman) has gone down, she phoned me, said Eva seems and looks better to her. Her sores are healing. They are trying something new in her diet that was suggested by the Mayo Brothers. Eva keeps so cheerful all the time, plans what she will do when she gets home, etc. I was so grateful that she called me and reported how they were. Said she and the girls got along splendid together.
