1945 (Wednesday) – I planted some flower seeds in some eggshells deposited in some egg boxes. There were zinnias, asters, marigolds and candytuft. In the afternoon, Father (Alfred Oscar Lunt) and I rode up to Bert’s (Charles Gilbert Lunt) home in Clearfield and spent several hours with them. Agnes (Agnes Coalter Golightly) prepared a lovely dinner including pumpkin and mince pie and last, but not least, a large chocolate cake with candles to represent 46 years, in honor of our wedding day of the Sunday previous. We didn’t eat any of this, but she cut it in two and we brought half of it home.
