1945 (Monday) – I spent the morning at the library. It’s very discouraging. My folks want names for Temple work and it is very hard to locate them. Recently I prepared 63 names on the Eby line, but in checking, found the work had been done for all but five names. Our Sperry names are mostly done and we have to give direct relationship for all New England names, so it needs some intensive research on the Sperry, Mansfield, Potter, Blackslee and Bishop surnames. If I could once get a good start, I might then be able to keep them busy, but it means long hours of hard work to get going. Today, I tried to find some English lines, but we do not have many good records from Gloucestershire, although there will be some as soon as Brother Koehler gets some microfilm copies of some records received. I want to get some names in the Temple before I go down to Nevada.
This evening I took a little piece of crocheting, which I had made while listening to the radio, over to Sister Spitzbardt as a token of my gratitude for her help to me while I was ill.
