1945 (Monday) – About eight o’clock a.m. my husband (Alfred Oscar Lunt) took me to the bus station and purchased my ticket to McGill, Nevada. The trip was uneventful. I rode in the Lewis Bus, which arrived in McGill about 2:30 or 3:00 p.m. their time.

Darlene (Darlene Lunt Holman) and Sharon (Sharon Alice Holman) met me at the bus and helped with the grips to the car. Someone was in the car and said “Evelyn came for you as George (George Thornton Holman) is at work”, she spoke two or three times briefly, her back was to me, although she did turn her head a little towards me at times. I glanced at her but could not remember having met her before, I didn’t like to stare at her, a stranger. When Evelyn came to the car, I shook hands with her and then inquired how Eva (Eva Ruth Lunt) was, they both looked startled, looking at each other and then at me, then I did stare at the lady in front and found it was Eva herself. She was so thin, I didn’t know her. I hadn’t even thought of Eva as I supposed she was still bedfast, only getting up for her meals, never dreamed she was able to go out doors. I felt terrible embarrassed.

Eva is much better than I thought possible. They all seemed glad to see me. Afternoon – I went shopping with Darlene.
