1945 (Tuesday) – In the evening a very pleasant party was had. It is Eva’s (Eva Ruth Lunt) birthday on the 11th and as some were unable to come then, we decided on the 10th. Those present were: Sister Holman (Alice Menetta Thornton), her three daughters (Ella May, Emeretta and Deon Holman); Retta (Retta Sperry), Ella and Diane, Esther (Emily Esther Sperry), Lillian (Lillian May Sperry), Mel (Henry Melvin Sperry) and Vera (Vera Lucille Daley), Porty (Porty Lewis Gabbitas) and Della (Della Lunt), Maxine (Maxine Carter), Eva, and me. Dad (Alfred Oscar Lunt) was here until time to go to work, but did not join in the games. We served ice cream, cake, punch, with some candy on the tables. All seemed to enjoy themselves.
