1945 (Saturday) – In the evening we had a party at the home of our brother, Melvin (Henry Melvin Sperry). Pearl (Eva Pearl Sperry) and Wallace (Wallace Joseph Vickers) came down from Logan, they brought a beautiful armful of gladiolas. After the party, they divided them between them and the family. The party was held in the backyard . It was so cool it seemed almost as if we were up in the canyon. Dad (Alfred Oscar Lunt) didn’t go, neither did Uncle Karl (Karl Farnsworth). Eva (Eva Ruth Lunt) went with me. There were present for dinner: Art (Arthur David Sperry) and Gertrude (Gertrude Barton), Esther (Emily Esther Sperry), Eva and I, Lillian (Lillian May Sperry), Wallace and Pearl, Melvin and Vera (Vera Lucille Daley) and June (June Irene Sperry) and her husband (Floyd Clare McMillen).
We enjoyed our dinner very much. Afterwards we drew numbers for our gifts. I received the one Esther brought in, a towel and wash rag. Eva drew best of all, some pinpoint work in a frame, the work done by Aunt Pearl.
Uncle Art and Aunt Gertrude brought us home. About midnight, George (George Thornton Holman) came for the night. He rode in with some friends.
