July 31, 1945 (Tuesday) – It is quite warm again today. We were home all day. Nicholas G. Smith came and administered to Eva (Eva Ruth Lunt). He rebuked the poison in her system and prayed that she might fully recover from her sickness, her finger is looking quite bad now.
Brother Smith also gave me a blessing, he asked the Lord to make me well and equal to my duty, asked that I might be given understanding, even above what I posed, that I might be a help to my daughter, reminded the Father of my faithfulness in trying to carry on in the difficult times I had and asked him to make me equal to all I had to do.
Sharon (Sharon Alice Holman) and I went over to Sister Spitzbardt’s to inquire how Brother Spitzbardt was getting along as he had been under an operation, he is improving nicely.
