1945 (Sunday) – Eva (Eva Ruth Lunt) and girls (Darlene Lunt and Sharon Alice Holman) went out to Holman’s for the day. I attended prayer meeting and Sunday School. Brother Cook gave the lesson on bylaws and constitution. Brother Harry Christianson visited our class.
Attended Sacrament meeting. P. Melvin Petersen sang two songs. A young Sister and Brother Woodbury were the speakers. At closing time, just before prayer, the Bishop’s daughter brought a message that word had been received from the Japs that they were willing to surrender. On reaching home, I learned it was a false alarm as no such work had been by the President.
