1945 (Thursday) – George (George Thornton Holman) and family has gone out to spend the day with his family. I am home just relaxing, typing and doing anything I wish. It seems quiet after having Eva (Eva Ruth Lunt) and the girls (Darlene Lunt and Sharon Alice Holman) with me. They are celebrating V.J. Day’s both Wednesday and Thursday all stores were closed except the groceries, which were open during the forenoon.
Bert (Charles Gilbert Lunt), Agnes (Agnes Coalter Golightly), Marybeth and Judy came in for lunch, visited until dinnertime. Bert took the girls for a walk. After dinner we went with Bert’s family out to Holman’s, where we visited for a while, then Darlene came home with us. The girls played and sang until time for Bert’s family to go home. Later I read some to Darlene from ‘Added Upon”. George and Eva came home later.
