1945 (Monday)* – Evening – I went to an officers and teacher’s meeting, met with the Bishopric. During the meeting, I left and went to the Daughters of the Pioneers, in the Relief Hall. They had a splendid program and nice refreshments. One evening, I just can’t remember when, Sister Smith and I went to a cottage meeting on 2nd West at a Sister Taylor’s home. A big double room was filled with people. Brother Anastacia was the speaker, Sister Gaeth had charge of the meeting. We were there until after ten o’clock. He talked about his conversion to the gospel, his first mission, his experiences as presiding officer over the British Mission during the war, told many faith promoting incidents, then talked on many gospel principles. Brother Spitzbaldt told of his conversion and many incidents in his life as did another Brother. It had started to rain before we went down there, poured all the time we were there and we simply waded in water on our way home. I was so thankful that I didn’t catch cold.
Monday I did some washing, we went to the library for about three hours. Shopped at Z.C.M.I.’s for a wedding present for the son of Nephi and Della Howarth’s and as I mentioned above, attended the Daughters of the Pioneer’s meeting.
