Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1945 (Sunday) – Art (Athur David Sperry) and Gertrude (Gertrude Barton) called at eight o’clock and took Esther (Emily Esther Sperry), Lillian (Lillian May Sperry) and Me with them up to Logan to visit with Pearl (Eva Pearl Sperry) and family. The drive was very pleasant and the scenes in the canyons were gorgeous, everything was so colorful. We found Pearl watching for us, the two girls (Ruth and Jayne Vanice Vickers) were home and Wallace (Wallace Joseph Vickers) came home soon after.

She prepared a sumptuous meal and we enjoyed all of it. Listened to part of conference over the radio, about five thirty, we started home, they gave us some corn, tomatoes and some flowers. Coming home, I imagine we passed at least a thousand cars going the opposite direction, I counted a hundred in a very short distance. Wrote to Eva (Eva Ruth Lunt).
