1945 (Tuesday) – Attended the funeral of Sister Margaret Rawlings at the Taylor Mortuary, sat by Sister Holman, her husband is a relative. The services were splendid and there were lovely flowers. Afterwards, I went to Teachers meeting and remained to Relief Society, the lesson was on the leadership of Brigham Young. Evening – I met Lillian (Lillian Lunt) and some friends at the Capitol Theater, afterwards we found it was raining, quite hard. Lillian and I stopped by the Owl Drug and tried to catch a cab, then we went across the street to catch a street car, this was so long coming, we returned to the Drug Store and waited for cabs, many of them came, but none were going in our direction, so we walked home, we were quite soaked when we reached home. Lillian slept with me.
