Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1945 (Wednesday) – Dad (Alfred Oscar Lunt) and Lillian (Lillian Lunt) to work, the ground was all covered with snow. We called and got the typewriter, it cost almost twenty dollars.

Dad took me out to Della’s (Della Lunt) and at five o’clock he came back for me. The family was quite well except that the two youngest had colds. Della doesn’t feel a bit good, she is so nervous, Judy (Judith Ann Lunt) tries to help her mother, but oh she does love to talk and wants the attention of the grownups all the time. Teddy (Ted Lunt Gabbitas) is getting so cute, he is getting quite attached to me, will let me do anything for him, and follows me around, he has the sweetest smile. Larry (Larry Lunt Gabbitas) is quite a problem, he is the dearest kid, but has such an imagination, he lives in the clouds and the duties at hand doesn’t interest him very much, he goes out to do some chores, intending to do it, but something attracts his attention and he forgets all about his job. Afterall he is only a baby, seven years old.

The day went by so swiftly it didn’t seem like we accomplished very much.

After dinner I tried out my typewriter and it is surely nice.
