1945 (Sunday) – Ward Conference at 10:30 am. After Sacrament, etc., the Stake President took charge of the program, had Brother’s Davis, Snarr and Brother Smith, a High Councilman, talk, but first Brother Andrews of the stake presidency gave a talk. Afternoon – Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) and I went to the hospital to see our sister Lillian (Lillian May Sperry). She was feeling quite miserable.
Evening – Went to last session of conference at 6:30, it was filled to capacity, some standing. After opening exercises, the Stake President again took charge, speakers Brother Durham, Bishop Langton, then officers were taken care of, that is the old bishopric and stake and ward officers. Brother Hinckly was sustained as Bishop, Brother Lund, 1st counselor and Brother Provost, as 2nd, with a Brother Davis as clerk.
It was after nine o’clock before meeting was out.
