December 3, 1945 (Monday) – Phoned to Della (Della Lunt), she is feeling some better, Port (Porty Lewis Gabbitas) is a little better, was going down to see the doctor. Larry (Larry Lunt Gabbitas) is home from school as he has a cold.
I went shopping, walked to Third South on Main, bought five Christmas presents.
Don’t feel too good this evening, but hope it will not develop into sinus trouble or the flu. I am going out to a meeting of the pioneers.
Received a letter from Lillian (Lillian Lunt) today, and Dad (Alfred Oscar Lunt) received a box of candy from Dorothy (Dorothy Snader) and Lillian for his birthday. Saturday, he received a box of lotion, etc. in a fine wooden box, from Bert (Charles Gilbert Lunt) and Agnes (Agnes Coalter Golightly).
We had a fine time at the meeting of the Daughters of Pioneers. Sister Valentine, the captain, crocheted a ???? for the lapel of our coats, from red and green yarn, for each member present. They looked lovely. I received a bottle of Jergens Lotion from Sister Sharp, as my Christmas gift.
