1945 (Monday) – I am feeling much better today but still quite weak. Dad (Alfred Oscar Lunt) was almost an hour late getting home, so I naturally thought he might have met with an accident as the roads are so slippery, it quite upset me, but when he came walking in, I learned his battery was worn out and he had to buy a new one, they have been warning him for some time to get one, but he thought it was alright, it’s the first one for the car since it was new.
About noon I went to town, called at the bank to deposit some bonds then went to the Z.C.M.I. where I purchased three Christmas gifts, then I went to the Genealogical Society, talked with Edna, Sister Baird and others and then Barbara Bennett and her father (Mr. Bennett). Later – Was going up for research but found I hadn’t left my material in the locker, so I came home. About four o’clock, Dad and I went Christmas shopping. Oh what a crowd there was in town, we purchased four more gifts and returned home. After dinner I went down to the ward to take a few things to send to the European Saints. Wrote a letter to Eva (Eva Ruth Lunt).
