1945 (Monday) – I spent most of the day shopping. In the evening I went down to the Tron’s to read the pageant, of Earl’s (Earl Sperry Lunt), to them, we planned a little Genealogical party. We are going to have it in January. They made me eat some delicious refreshments, but I felt I would have been better off without, as I am not used to eating after dinner. But it’s a custom among the German people to serve friends when they come into their homes. It is very cold and slippery outside.
