1946 (Thursday) – Two weeks have passed since I wrote in my book. Christmas day I spent a lot of time reading as I wanted to write up a good testimony for the latter part of Earl’s (Earl Sperry Lunt) pageant, it was several days before I was satisfied with the paper. The day after Christmas I called Minnie Margetts.
Sister Margetts said Brother Joseph Christensen and a Will Lund desired to read the pageant before we produced it. I took a copy to Sister Margetts and one for the brethren to read. Minnie and I went over the play together and she laid down the beginning of what we should do. A day or two later I again visited the Historian’s Office where she works, talked with Brother Christensen, he made some good suggestions for a few changes and was very kind in his commendations about the Pageant, he liked the last scene, felt we had a lovely ending to our play, had no criticism to offer on the testimony I had written, Minnie suggested we call it “Remember The Day”. I have been very busy since then copying parts, calling people, etc.
During the holidays the library was closed, so I was unable to do any research then but I had a lot of correspondence to do. On Friday morning early January 4th my daughter Lillian Snader (Lillian Lunt) came to visit us. In the evening we attended a celebration program in the Tabernacle of fifty years of statehood. Saturday 5th we went out to Della’s (Della Lunt) and spent the day. Sunday 6th was a busy one for me, attended Teacher’s Prayer Meeting, then Sunday School and Fast Meeting, remained afterwards with Sister Margetts to choose other members of our cast. Our genealogical group also commenced planning a party. Evening Lillian and I went to a meeting the genealogical people were in charge, after meeting Lillian and I went up to see Uncle Harry Sperry (Miles Harrison Sperry), Florence (Florence Sperry), Emery (George Emery Epperson) and Sarah Epperson (Sarah Jane Sperry) were there, and two other ladies.
Evening – Lillian and I went to a show, Tuesday we went to Mutual, Wednesday we went out to Della’s, as she had to wash. Lillian did most of it for her. Evening – I had to go to a practice down at the ward.
