Another great grandchild for Lucy M. Rowley, Donald Clinton Jaeger, son of Raymond F. and Marilyn Lucy Rowley Jaeger, was born November 20, 1958 in Oceanside California. Marilyn is the daughter of Lorin P. and Daisy Rowley.
Daisy left Salt Lake city November 21, 1958 for Carlsbad, California to be with her for two weeks, then went up to Los Angeles for a couple of days visit with her brother, Wm. W. Crockett before coming home.
On December 14, 1958, an open house was held for Lucy M. Rowley at 1326 W. 4th South. More than one hundred and fifteen friends and relatives attended. It was a pleasant day for her, seeing so many old friends, it being her birthday 86 years young. Marilyn’s baby is her 91 great grandchild.
Ralph (Dick) Rowley and family, of Baldwin Park, California drove to Duchesne, Utah to be with his family for Christmas. They left Duchesne on December 27, 1958 to come on to Salt Lake City to see another sister and his grandmother, Lucy M. Rowley and other relatives. They arrived at their home on December 28, 1958. They left Salt Lake on the 27th of December.
Keith Rowley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rowley, underwent cancer surgery at the Salt Lake LDS Hospital Dec. 30, 1958. The cancerous growth was imbedded at the left base of his neck, near the collarbone, and required 5 hours to complete operation, which the doctor feels was successful. Mr. Rowley was hospitalized for six days. He returned to home, Saturday January 10, but was requested to return to his physician Monday following for a check. The results od this check proved that the wound was healing remarkably well, but because reports had not come back from the laboratory test. It could not be determined if x-ray treatments should follow. Keith was to the doctor on January 16, 1959. The Doctor is well satisfied with results. No further x-rays needed. No further date set for a doctor’s visit.
Pvt. Leo Rowley arrived in Salt Lake City Friday Jan 2, 1959 from Bynum, Montana, his hometown, where he had been on leave from the army for the holidays. He was on his way to Fort Bliss, Texas for thirteen weeks of schooling with the U. S. Army Air Defense.
