1946 (Monday) – I did some washing, then went to the bank, we cashed our first bond to pay our government tax. We bought it in 1942, so it amounted to seventy-eight dollars. I was so in hopes we could keep our bonds until they matured, but our tax was 95 dollars. 

I went to the library and worked until almost three o’clock. I found the record of marriage of Richard Mansfield and Gillian Drake in Boyd’s Marriage Index. They gave the year 1636.
