1946 (Wednesday) – While trying to hang a curtain at the window in my kitchen, I stepped on to a chair, and failed to notice that the table leaf was up, stepped on it. The table turned over throwing me to the floor. I struck the stove in falling, so was quite shaken, In fact, I trembled for quite some time, but was very thankful no bones were broken. I prepared supper and afterwards Earl (Earl Sperry Lunt) took me up by the Paris, where I met my sister Lillian (Lillian May Sperry) and we went to a show at the Center Theater. Afterwards, she came down and spent the night with me.
Next day, I surely felt sore all over, but was able to go on with my housework.
