Journal: Jeanette Sperry

June 5, 1946 (Wednesday) – About eight o’clock, Dorothy (Dorothy Snader), Carl Hatch Hunter, his brother (Arvel Hatch Hunter) and wife (Vera Elayn Allen) and I went to the Temple. Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) was waiting there for us. Gertrude (Gertrude Barton), Della (Della Lunt) and Agnes (Agnes Coalter Golightly) joined our party there. We spent a lovely seven hours there. Carl Hatch Hunter and Dorothy Snader were married for time and all eternity by Patriarch Jones. Carl’s brother was one of the witnesses. There was a lovely spirit there. Dorothy looked lovely and they both seemed so happy.

Sister Smith, when talking to the brides, said there were 36 marriages that session, that is why it took so long.

Lillian prepared a nice dinner for us. Earl (Earl Sperry Lunt) had set the table and arranged flowers, etc., so everything looked quite lovely. In the evening we had a party for them, played games, etc. Those present: the bride and groom, his brother, Marvel and wife, Elayne, Lillian (the mother), Uncle Art (Arthur David Sperry) and Aunt Gertrude, Uncle Mel (Henry Melvin Sperry), Vera (Vera Lucille Daley) and daughter Mildred (Mildred Gladys Sperry), Bert (Charles Gilbert Lunt) and Agnes, Port (Porty Lewis Gabbitas) and Della, Aunt Lillian (Lillian May Sperry), Edna Nelson (Edna Viola Nelson) and mother (Grace Viola Harper), Melva Hamp and sister (), Aunt Esther, Jean Lunt (Patricia Jean Lunt) and Earl, Dad (Alfred Oscar Lunt) and myself.

Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and all expressed their feelings as to the good time they had. They received some lovely presents.
