1946 (Friday) – Alfred (Alfred Oscar Lunt, Jr.) and Mary (Mary Etta George) started back home, they intend spending the night with George (George Thornton Holman) and Eva (Eva Ruth Lunt). About five o’clock, Earl (Earl Sperry Lunt) took Edna Nelson (Edna Viola Nelson) and myself out to Lagoon where we met Art (Arthur David Sperry) and Gertrude (Gertrude Barton) and their daughter Jean (Jean Sperry), her husband (Oscar Merlin Vance) and two children (Jerry Kay and Judith Ann Vance), Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) and Karl (Karl Farnsworth), Retta (Retta Sperry) and Della (Emma Della Sperry), Mel (Henry Melvin Sperry) and Vera (Vera Lucille Daley), Wallace (Wallace Joseph Vickers) and Pearl (Eva Pearl Sperry) and daughter Jayne (Jayne Vanice Vickers) and Lillian (Lillian May Sperry). We had a splendid supper, it was quite cool and nice. We then drew for our gift number. I drew a large bottle of Jergen’s lotion. It was funny. I took with me, for a gift, a scrapbook. Della was with me when I bought it and she persuaded me to buy it as she said she needed one, and sure enough, Della drew my number and got the book. I bottled four quarts of red currants and raspberries.
