1946 (Tuesday) – About noon, Sister Nelson came over and brought us some cucumbers, string beans and a cup of raspberries. I made 10 pints of bread and butter pickles. Evening – Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) and I went with Edna (Edna Viola Nelson) and her mother (Grace Viola Harper), with Earl (Earl Sperry Lunt) driving the car, up to the stadium to see the Pioneer Day Pageant, it was wonderful, especially the beautiful dancing at the end, but most glorious of all was the unfurling of the flag and when the wind arose and caught it causing it to float and ripple in the wind, it was a glorious sight to see.
