1946 (Saturday) – We have been having some storms lately which had cooled the atmosphere a little. It was a nice day today. At four o’clock I went over to the Banberger Station and met part of the group of our old researchers for a trip to Lagoon. Vera Moore, Freddie Hofer were hostesses to our little party, those present besides the hostesses were: Sister’s Sanborn, Ockey, Maughn, Alley, Heneger, Bryner, Birdie, and her daughter, Macella Collett was the third hostess, her sister with her young daughter was also a guest, and myself. Elizabeth Jones was also there.
We took our sandwiches and the hostesses served cantaloupes and ice cream. We all returned on the seven o’clock train, except Sanborn, who went home at six. The reason we left so early, there wasn’t another train until nine o’clock, and after that it would be eleven. It was good to meet the old bunch again, but our visit was very short.
