1946 (Monday) – It was noon before I reached the Genealogical Society. I checked again with the material of Sister Shaw of Nyssa. I made a copy of her family groups there. The records are very incomplete and I will have to write to her for more information before the sheets can be given to the Index Office.
Upstairs I worked for a couple or three hours, found the place where Mary Wooden was born, evidently her father, John (John Wooden), did not live there very long, as no further records of the family were found, he obtained some land there in 1652. I learned that much from a history of the town. Sister Campbell introduced me to a granddaughter of Grandmother Sperry’s sister ( I think Clarissa (Clarissa Amanda Miller)) who married a Hoyt (Israel Hoyt). We were glad to meet each other, as we are 2nd cousins and she wants to help me with the Miller work.
