1946 (Thursday) – Made two quarts of bread & butter pickles.
Received a letter from Dorothy (Dorothy Snader) telling us that her husband’s (Carl Hatch Hunter) brother’s (Arvel Hatch Hunter) wife (Vera Elayn Allen) gave birth to a baby boy (Alen Baird Hunter) Monday 9th (Edit: He was born the 8th) and then she passed away. It was Arvel Hunter’s wife. I have met her and she was certainly a lovely girl.
I wrote to Dorothy, also a letter to Eva (Eva Ruth Lunt).
