1946 (Sunday) – Attended Sunday School. Afterwards, I went to a genealogical meeting. Several of the Stake board were there. Also Minnie Margarets and Joseph Peterson. After reports and remarks by Brother Van Oughton. Sister Margarett’s made some remarks about the pageant to be given in November.
Evening – I attended Sacrament Meeting. Three missionaries spoke: first, Richard Schroeder, who had been released from Stake missionary work. He told of his interest in the work and of his enjoyment while a missionary. He is 85 years old.
Sister Hanney is preparing to leave for Switzerland on a mission. She was the 2nd speaker. She spoke splendid, telling of some of the people in the mission home and of the sacrifices they are making to go on their mission. Quotes from section 88 D&C where missionaries are likened unto the lilies of the field.
The third speaker was Brother Knight who recently returned from a mission in Texas. Said he met a lot of Jews and was treated better by them than many other people and they bought many Books of Mormon. He enjoyed his mission very much.
A man and wife gave two lovely violin and piano selections.
Dad (Alfred Oscar Lunt) started to work after a two week vacation.
