Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1946 (Tuesday) – At a few minutes past ten, I left for Sister Allred’s to go out on genealogical work. She was out so I called at the apartment at 106 W. 1st N. Apt. 24. We had called there before, but she was in Logan ill. One of the roomers said she was anxious to meet us. Her husband’s name is G. S. Quate, he’s a non-member. She seemed very sweet . I left some charts and group sheets and she is anxious to have them filled out. I then returned to Sister Allred’s and we continued on our district. We called at #226 N. 1st West. We had been there before and she was too busy to see us and today she was making jelly, so we did not go in. She said she was glad we called as it reminded her of the sheets we left before and she would try and get them filled out.

We called at the home of Vera Moore’s parents, Sister Burbidge invited us in and we chatted for a little while, but she was unable to give information about their records as Vera is in charge.

Our next stop was at 246 N. 1st West in the rear, Jean Neal. She has been baptized, but not confirmed as she had to leave with her husband before Fast Day, as he was sent away in the Army. She tried to get them to confirm her privately, but was refused by the Bishop. She is trying to get it done now. We left a chart and group sheet there.

On 254 N. 1st West, we called and found Rebecca Aspinal (de Witt), we know her as de Witt, but she has received back her former name of Asipnal, which she will now use. She is a member of our committee and one of the group teachers to visit the homes.

By this time, it was twelve o’clock, so we returned to our homes.

Afternoon – I went to the Z.C. and purchased a little wedding gift.
